Time to bring back uber in NEWS!

Well, it hasn't been long since uber was in news for delhi rape case.

The current incident has left me wondering if its ill practice on part of uber or it's driver.
yesterday (June 21st, 2016), a friend of mine booked uber for his friends for a humble distance of 3.74 kms. Considering late night he was obviously charged 1.6x surge over actual fare, no complains, as this is mentioned while booking itself and the receipt too contains this surge.

Here are receipts he got on mail and app.

No complains for this part, but what followed left me and my friend dazzled. The driver asked for twice the amount stating a red zone booking. Okay! a first, but if it is a norm why wasn't it shown while booking. Also, if its a red zone booking is it in addition to 1.6x surge? Also, if doubling the fare for red zone is part of uber policy, why didn't it show up on the receipt. You hand us proper receipt and we'll willingly pay the stated amount. This leaves us with two questions, is uber trying to evade taxes by not showing entire amount on its receipts? Or, was it one off incident where it's driver stole money stating some shitty reasons.

Below, is a recording of our conversation with the driver.

toh bhaiya red zone me chal raha tha toh receipt pe kyu nai aaya, drivers apne mood se red zone ka charge karenge kya!!

WELL, UBER AND ITS INFAMOUS DRIVERS!

Give us a reason why should we recommend uber to any acquaintances. Or, why should not we take the matter to consumer courts.

And, if uber is not at fault and it was ill practice on part of driver, we believe uber will take strict action against the driver and cancel his registration.

M.Tech admissions into Central Universities/Institutes beyond IITs/NITs/IIITs

GATE scores are finally out! This post is specially for those who could not perform as expected. Well if your score isn't enough to get you into IITs/IISc/NITs/IIITs, there is still hope that you might get into a Central(Government of India) University/Institute. Ofcourse, to be on safer side I would advise to apply to state universities/counsellings. However, below is the list of Central Universities/Institutes which you should not miss. Being centrally funded they do offer facilities no less than any NIT, and being out of focus most of them are left with vacant seats.

Existing Central Universities
1. Rajeev Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh (http://www.rgu.ac.in/) : Courses - M.Tech (CSE).

2. Tezpur university, Assam (http://www.tezu.ernet.in/) : Departments - Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and comm.Engineering, Energy, Food Engineering and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.

3. Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (http://jmi.ac.in/)

4. JawaharLal Nehru University, Delhi (http://www.jnu.ac.in/)

7. Pondicherry University (http://www.pondiuni.edu.in/ ): Check website for list of courses and admission procedure. Also, as this university conducts its own examination, you need not be GATE qualified to get admit.

8. Indian Maritime University, Tamil Nadu (http://www.imu.nic.in/ ): Only Maritime related M.Tech programs. Check website for details.

9. University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad (http://www.uohyd.ac.in/ ): Various programs. Check website for details.

10. Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh (http://www.amu.ac.in/ ): Various programs. Check website for details.

11. Banaras Hindu University (http://bhu.ac.in/ ): It should not be in this list. IT-BHU has been upgraded to IIT-BHU.

National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research(s), Under MHRD (Govt. of India):

12. NITTTR, Bhopal – National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research-  (http://www.nitttrbpl.ac.in/ ): Various M.Tech Courses. Check website for details. Institute has a dedicated corporate relation cell, which ensures if students want to join industry instead of academics after course completion, they get sufficient exposure both in terms of training and placement opportunities.

13. NITTTR, Chandigarh – National institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research – (http://www.nitttrchd.ac.in/ ): Various M.Tech courses. Check website for details. Most seats are reserved for candidates with experience. However, a certain number of seats are open for freshers too.

Scooter parking @ NITTTR

This is called precision! or whoever wrote this notice definitely rides a 'bike'!

though I'm still trying to figure out if scooter was parked to mock the board or the board was placed after the rider left his 'scooter' there.

perhaps this guy knows how to find loopholes in the system. only restricted vehicle is 'scooter'. so,

you can park your bikes/cars/vans or anything that isn't scooter.
